LIST OF SCRAPBOOK TOOLS

A comprehensive list of scrapbook tools can be a real chunk of change, so I've put together a list that begins with the basics, proceeds to the 'nice to haves', then to the 'why not treat yourself' and ending up with 'if you get one of those, Honey, we're through!'

THE BASICS

Photographs
to scrap that would look good together on a page. Don't crop polaroids!

Album, with page clear page protectors. 12 x 12 is a great size for layouts.

Background papers. Plain or patterned, it's up to you.

Cardstock

Adhesive. For speed and ease, you can't beat a tape runner. A Glue pen and a roll of Glue Dots are well worth getting, especially if you want to embellish your layouts.

A black journaling pen.

A pencil and eraser.

A pair of good sharp scissors.

THE 'NICE TO HAVES'

Special papers,
eg Mulberry and vellum.

Transfers. 'Stick-on' or 'Rub-on'.

Sheets of lettering.

Embellishments. These might include brads, eyelets (you'll need a setter - I don't mean a dog), buttons or ribbon.

Chalks

Paper Trimmer. Get those paper cuts perfect. Even if others can't see where your lines aren't straight - you will!

WHY NOT TREAT YOURSELF?

Craft Knife
. If you want to get creative with your page accents and embellishments.

A Cutting Mat. Essential if you go the craft knife route!

A metal ruler.

A mini hammer. Light duty only. You don't want to find it in the trunk of your husband's car.

IF YOU BUY ONE OF THOSE........

Sissix Machine
plus a set of lower case and upper case letters.

Xyron machine. It turns embellishments into stickers. The 150 is ideal for taking to crops.

Personal Cutting Machine. If you're computer literate you might want to google 'CraftRobo', or look for 'Cricut' if computers are a little scary. Your husband will find the price of both really scary.

COULD THIS LIST BE NEVER-ENDING?!

Er...kind of. Yes. New and improved scrapbook tools arrive on the market all the time in an attempt to satisfy the hunger of the world's scrappers. I shall add to my list of scrapbook tools regularly, even if I haven't personally ventured into the 'big ticket' items category yet!
